Good morning!!!!

I really wanted to sleep in this morning, but for some reason I woke up earlier, and I just decided to get up and get going. WHY not? There's always tomorrow to sleep in, right?!
SO, I rode the bike for 30 minutes and 5 1/2 miles, and I am on page 130 of Twilight.
The book has a little bit of a slow pace, but my experience with most first novels, especially in a series, it takes a bit to get going. But, I have also only been reading little snippets as I ride each morning.
I figure this next week I will be able to get some quality reading and riding time in. But, my goal is at least 15 minutes of riding a day. I have now accomplished 12 days in a row!!!
I was inspired by that article I posted earlier about doing something "little" for thirty days and seeing what kind of results come about.
Yesterday I went to buy pants, as I needed a new pair of black jeans for the show. I didn't have a lot of time, so I was torn between grabbing a size 18 or size 20, since I knew I couldn't go try them on.
I finally decided on the 20 because I was feeling like my size 18 were a little snugger through the holidays, and those pants are worn, so I figured they had stretched out.
Well, the size 20 pants are WAY too big!!! I was pulling them up all night, and I didn't have a belt. Good news!
My plan is to go back, and since I really like the style of the pants, I am going to buy a pair of 18 and pair of 16 pants.
I really also want to weigh in, but life is too hectic this weekend, so I am thinking it will probably be on Monday after my massage appointment :)
Hope your weekend rocks! Do something "little" today, just for 15 minutes. You won't regret it!!

Still going strong

I got up exhausted this morning, but I still rode the bike and read for 15 minutes, and just under 3 miles.
I had a bunch of things I needed to organize, so I didn't have as long as I would've liked to ride. BUT, I did ride.
And, every little bit counts, right?!
     Happy Friday!!!

Sooooo tired! Snooze button?

NO WAY!!! I am on a roll!!! I did ride this morning for 3 miles, 17 minutes, and more pages in the book, which is getting better!
Thankfully I kicked the headache, but BOY oh BOY I am tired!!!!
I am hoping that once the play is over I can start some other exercise in the afternoons :)
I am VERY much looking forward to my massage next week!!!!
I also want to weigh, maybe on Sunday!

Headache can't keep me away!

I woke up with a headache today. Grrrr. That has not happened in a long time. I really, really, really, really did not want to get up and ride.
I did, though. I grabbed some Tylenol, water, and started riding.
Soon the cat was in my lap. He's such a funny kitty. He rode with me for a mile or so, and then became bored.
My head is still in pain...sinus (like I have time for a sinus infection right now).
I rode 3 miles, 17 minutes, and I am on page 70 of the Twilight book (which is still pretty good so far).
I feel good that I still worked up a sweat, and that I just didn't stay in bed. Now, I just wish my headache would go away!

8th day in a row!

Today I did NOT want to get up and ride the bike!!! But, I did, and I am glad.
I did ride for the first five minutes with my eyes closed, LOL.
Then I had to ride with the kitty. He wanted me to hold and love on him.
I did get to finally read a bit of the book, and so far it's pretty good.
I rode for 18 minutes and 3 miles. Not so bad, huh?!

Another ride

This morning I was up and at it again! I rode for 20 minutes, 3.5 miles, and I am not sure how many pages, but a lot.
I finally broke down, and I am reading Twilight! All my kiddos rave about it, so I decided to buy it back in early December. Now I finally have time to read it.
It's actually pretty good, and it's based in Washington, over near Port Angeles. That's cool.
Today makes the seventh day in a row that I have been on my bike, and it feels good.
So, how long until something becomes a habit? How come it seems so easy to have a bad habit? LOL!
Have a great Monday...remember you only have 52 Mondays a year, so make the best of this one!

Just exercised!!!

I just rode the bike for 50 minutes, 9 miles, and 63 pages of the book, which I finished :)
I already have the next book ready, and I am excited to get up early tomorrow and ride!!
This will be an exceptionally busy week, and I am planning on geting up each morning early to ride the bike.
I am so glad that I am back on the bike :)

31 days

So, I found this cool article. CAUTION: It's actually a slideshow, so it works best to read each mini-story if you pause the slideshow right off the bat.

The premise is trying something small for 31 days to see what sort of impact it will make. In the big scheme of things in our life 31 days is teeny tiny, right?!

Check it out here!

Busy morning, but don't despair!

My TO DO list this morning was rather large, and now it's dwindled down to just a few things to be added to tomorrow's TO DO list, right?!
I just rode the bike for 36 minutes, 6.75 miles, and 38more pages of the book. I only have 63 pages left, and I won't read the book unless I am riding, so it motivates me to exercise!
It was much later than I have exercised all week, but that's OK, I still manage to get my ride in!!
I feel like I have no time to read (something I love to do) or exercise, so it works out SUPER to just do both at the same time :)
Five days and counting, WOO HOO!

My bike keeps the cat's curiousity!

Howdy! Today I woke up even a little bit earlier, CRAZY! Maybe that means I am getting better sleep through the night. I am definitely not feeling as tired as I was feeling.
This morning I rode the bike for 25 minutes, 4 miles, and 33 pages!! I got off a little earlier than I planned, so I could jump in the shower sooner.
It's quite comical trying to ride the bike when Frankie Doodle (our cat) wants to attack the pedal each time it goes around, LOL!
     Happy Friday :)

Riding Report

Got up earlier this morning, and, YES, again without the alarm! It's like my body knows that I just have to get up and exercise!
Today I rode for 30 minutes, 5 miles, and read 35 pages of Fearless Fourteen (Janet Evanovich).
I feel really good right now, as I am drinking cold water and blogging about it.
Another long day ahead for me, but this working out in the morning, definitely gets me going, and I know that if I were to wait until the end of the day, when I am totally exhausted, well, it just wouldn't happen!
I probably won't have a chance to weigh until Saturday, so once I do, I will totally let you know!
     Happy Thursday :)

Two days in a row!

This morning, I didn't even have to wait for my alarm. I woke up five minutes before it went off.
I had set it to go off earlier than normal, so I could ride the bike again. AND, I did ride!!! Yeah!
I rode for 20 minutes, another four miles!! And, I read another couple of chapters of my book.
It really started my day off well, and I am totally into my book! I have decided that I won't read it unless I am riding, so that's some motivation.
I plan on riding tomorrow morning, too.
It's amazing because life is BEYOND crazy busy right now, but I am still making ME a priority!

I got up early today and rode the bike and read my book for 25 minutes!!! Woo hoo!! I feel good :)

Monday, January 19, 2009

So, last Sunday I weighed in with my friend at her house, and I had gained 4 pounds over the break. Grrr...
We were going to try and weigh today. I am not sure though when, as I have drama practice!! SO, if we do, I will update you.
I did ride the recumbent bike today for 40 minutes!! I read my book. It was good, and I feel good right now. Plus I drank 20 ounces of water while doing it.
I didn't do so hot this past week with drinking the water, as was my goal, so it's still on the list for this week.
I did have several conversations with several people though about how busy I am, how I don't take good care of myself, which I don't. I know that.
I always tell people that I want to do all the things that I am doing, and I do. It's so hard to not do the things that you feel so passionate about.
I am a broken record, skipping. I have to figure out the balance of my life. Still haven't figured it out completely. But, I will.
One day at a time. Today, I worked out. Today, I will drink enough water. That's today.

Motivation, according to is "the psychological feature that arouses an organism to action toward a desired goal."
What mentally pushes a person to do something to reach his/her goal or dream.
Lately I have had a couple of things that have motivated me towards being healthy, towards being the person I am supposed to be on the outside, the physical body that matches who I am on the inside.
Cody deployed on Friday, and we know he will be gone for a minimum of seven months. How wonderful would it be to lose weight and take care of myself, so that the next time my son comes home, towards August, that he will be so proud of me. He's always telling me that I deserve everything in this world because of how hard I work and take care of everyone.
Another motivator...Rick and I have been talking more seriously about getting married (a discussion that we have had off and on). He loves me no matter what I look like, but I want to be healthy when we finally do the deed, LOL.
My health is a BIG obvious motivator. I snore at night, which I hate. It affects me because I feel tired all the time since I am not sleeping soundly, and I feel TERRIBLE for Rick. When I lose weight, my snoring goes away.
Also, I don't know what the deal is with this, but I have also been experiencing pain and numbness in my arms at night. With all the research I have found that it is likely a pressure point issue for when and how I am sleeping. Nonetheless, it hurts!
My friend, who is going to start weighing with me weekly and who was also going to WWers, is experiencing severe hip pain that she had before losing all her weight.
SO, WE KNOW THAT WE NEED TO LOSE THE WEIGHT!!! Isn't that enough motivation?

Still going...

I haven't blogged because I haven't felt like I had much to blog about here, and because I am busy!
I was even considering taking this blog ofline, and I thought about it for a long time!
This February, it will have been three years since I started this blog in the first place.
I still haven't lost the weight, although I know right this moment that I don't weigh what I did when I started this process.
So, in deciding to keep this going or not, I have thought about how I am not quitter, and how this is MY life, and that I have struggled with losing weight and STAYING committed to doing that forever.
So, I am going to keep blogging, although no promises on how often, other than at least once a week.
I have not been to WWers since December 17th, and I know that I will not be going back until February.
I am directing the play at the high school, so I can't make any of those evening meetings.
But, I do plan on going back in February NO MATTER WHAT!
The good news is that I am going to weigh weekly with my friend (a fellow WWer, who also has not been going to meetings!). We are going to weigh today, so I will post my weight later today or tomorrow.
We have both decided that we are going to work on a few things specifically until we return to meetings in February.
Water is going to be our first goal. Although, WWers has changed now that rather than just being water, it's a total of liquid in a day...I am still going to shoot for 64-ounces of water in a day.
I KNOW how much I feel better when I drink enough water!! I know!
And, we are going to also focus on exercising at least three times a week, some sort of cardio. My goal is to still cross-country ski at least once a week (which means I have to go today or tomorrow for this week!), and then ride the recumbent bike or walk two other days.
And, rather than procrastinate (who me?), I am going to try to get the two days in right at the beginning of the week, with the hope, of course, that then I will exercise some extra days, too.
Last, we plan on eating healthy and smaller portions, but not counting all the points.
That's the plan. I haven't given up. And, in the end, I know what I need to do...we all KNOW. It's truly a matter of making it a priority.
